COURSE LENGTH : 10 weeks HOURS : 80

Our Phlebotomy Technician training program is designed to provide students with the skill set that they

will need to pursue a career as an entry-level phlebotomist. Students must complete 30 venipuncture & amp;

10 capillary sticks “live” before sitting for national certification. Students will be able to obtain the

required venipuncture and sticks per classmates and volunteers. Students will have an unpaid

externship at a hospital or laboratory. Students will sit for national certification through the National

Health-Career Association (NHA) at CHTC. With a CPT certification, you will have the credentials you

need to set yourself apart from other applicants as you embark on a rewarding healthcare career.

Graduates are qualified to work in laboratories, hospitals, physician offices, and clinics.

Describe the organization of healthcare facilities and the roles of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Apply phlebotomy theoretical knowledge in providing basic healthcare services.
Follow instructions and procedures accurately.
nsert a hypodermic needle and draw the blood into a tube.
Follow safety and compliance guidelines.
Follow patient preparation and blood collection guidelines.
Understand the basic rights of the clients, including the right to privacy, dignity, and

confidentiality.

Demonstrate effective, professional communication with clients, client’s families, and

healthcare team members.
