Nursing Assistant

Our Nursing Assistant Course is approved by the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and licensed by the SC Commission on Higher Education. This program has been designed to teach students how to perform nursing-related services to patients and residents in hospitals, long-term care facilities, and home health settings.
​What students will expect in the course:

Describe the organization of healthcare facilities and the roles of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Apply nursing assistant theoretical knowledge in providing basic healthcare services.

Understand the basic rights of the clients, including the right to privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.

Understand the basic physical, emotional, psycho-social, and spiritual needs of the clients.

Demonstrate effective, professional communication with clients, client’s families, and
healthcare team members.

Demonstrate skilled, compassionate care to clients while helping the clients to maintain their
dignity. Perform basic nurse assistant skills related to personal care and comfort including
activities of daily living and infection control.
